Multicultural Youth Talent Showcase

Participating in the Youth Talent Showcase empowers our young people by providing them a platform to express themselves creatively and showcase their skills and talents.  It boosts these confidence, self-esteem and sense of identity, fostering a positive sense of self-worth and belonging.  The young people share their unique cultural expressions through various forms of artistic expressions, such as music, dance, visual arts, and more.

Harmony Week Event

The Harmony Week Event is designed to be inclusive, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds regardless of ethnicity, race, religion, or socio-economic status.  It emphasizes the importance of diversity.  It gives an opportunity for participants to share their traditions and celebrate the diversity within the community.  It fosters a sense of price in one’s cultural identity and promotes cross-cultural understanding and harmony.

Mental Health Projects

WAMA held several sessions with community leaders, and health professionals.  The project offered crisis intervention services and support for members experiencing acute mental health problems.  The sessions recognize and address the unique cultural, linguistic and social factors that influence mental health and help-seeking behaviors.  It provided information on sensitive services, addressed stigma and promoted community engagement to improve mental health outcomes.

Workshops on Current Topics

The wellness group has shared many sessions on good health and good eating.  Many recipes were shared and important discussions on the right foods for gut health.

Many sessions on different cooking demonstrations from different cultures, such as Indian, Italian, Philippines etc.
